The nineteenth hole is an essential part of many golfers day out. Some use the nineteenth to celebrate a good round of golf, while others use it to forget. There are few club houses that offer the levels of relaxation that can be found at Canons Brook G
olf Club. The club house retains the elegance of the existing barn style building adjacent to the course, nestles comfortable into the beautiful backdrop of the surrounding landscape. The bar is open, airy and surrounded by large glass windows offering views of the course. The bar is fully licensed and you can take advantage of either a bar snack or for the larger appetites, there are excellent restaurant facilities. Our bar manager runs his operation in an efficient and organised manner catering for wide range of beers, lagers, ciders and spirits, whilst the catering manager offers members and visitors alike a wide choice of balanced food aimed at satisfying the most hearty of appetites. Changing facilities are adjacent to the clubhouse and host changing rooms for ladies and gentlemen, with full washing and shower-room facilities. Canons Brook Golf Club have designed and built a nineteenth hole which will live up to your expectations, so why not pay it a visit and discover it for yourself.

Lindsey Street Community Association was founded and built by mainly local residents in the early 1950`s for the enjoyment and entertainment of the local families, it has since then opened its doors to new members from a wide area and membership now sta
nds at around 350. The original small wooden building has been greatly extended with the addition of a large hall with a stage and ante rooms and a kitchen, the hall can be hired by members for functions such as, parties, weddings etc and has the advantage of having its own bar, hirers also have the use of a large kitchen for their catering needs. The club also has a large private car park The original building houses the members lounge and bar which has a pool table, dartboard and games machines, there is another room attached which has a full sized snooker table and a further darts board used for competitions. Entertainment on Saturday nights varies between visiting acts, and homespun events such as Discos, Race Nights and the occasional Karaoke Night.   There are a number of activities within the club which are run by their own members, I have listed these on the In-house page with contact names and telephone numbers new members are always welcome both for the club and the in house sections. Music at Marigolds incorporates Marigolds Jazz Club and Marigolds Blues Club and aims to be a friendly, low cost, non profit making organisation, offering good quality music. The Club first opened its doors in the Spring of 2003, and although run p
rincipally for the local community in Old Harlow, anyone is more than welcome and the Club now attracts people from throughout Essex and Hertfordshire and even London.  The Club holds its gigs in the Clubhouse at Harlow Cricket Club. Jazz gigs are held on the last Friday of the month and blues gigs are held on the middle Friday of the month.Alternative types of music are also played as advertised. In order to make the music accessible to anyone every effort has been made to try and keep the price of admission as low as possible. It was only reluctantly in 2007 that the admission prices were raised for the very first and only time. The Club's has never compromised in its principle of employing only the best musicians. Many of the jazz musicians are winners of, or have been nominated for, a much coveted British Jazz Award and many regularly tour the UK and abroad as do many of the Blues Bands. Doors and Licensed bar open at 7.30pm Please refer to the Club's web site for confirmation of gigs and further details: www.musicatmarigolds.co.uk www.myspace.com/musicatmarigolds Email: musicatmarigolds@ntlworld.com 01279 414174 / 421763 The Club is run by a small group of volunteers who give freely of their time Before the Club was started there was little live entertainment in Old Harlow especially for the wider community. A small group of jazz enthusiasts, principally, Greg Racey, Bob French and Vince Dunn, decided to do something about this and in the spring of 2003 they formed Marigolds Jazz Club.  Sadly Vince died in September 2005. He had been the landlord of the Marquis of Granby for 39 years before retiring to pursue his many other interests and duties supporting the local community in the Old Town In Vince's memory the Club organised a memorial concert on 4th February 2006 held at the ARC in the Old Town. Nearly150 people attended and over £1100 was raised and donated to Leukaemia Research.
